If you are planning on dropping off a quilt top to be quilted there are few things that you should be aware of.

Both the batting and the backing should be at least 4" to 5" wider on all sides. That way when it goes on the longarm machine there is room to attach the items to the bars. Also, the more "square" your quilt top is the better. If the edges have fullness in them that could result in potential tucks having to be made. I will do my best to work the fullness in but depending on the quilt top you can only do so much. When dropping of your quilt top if you have an idea of how you want your quilt top quilted that would be helpful. I have several options available. Another option would be free motion quilting. If you want the piecing to stand out and not be overpowered by the quilted design your better option would be free motion quilting (aka custom quilting).
